Blue Studio Trading supplied mannequins and bespoke display solutions for Harrods' redesigned Holiday & Occasionwear department, part of the Advanced International Designer Rooms designed by David Collins Studio. Working across Holiday, Evening & Occasionwear, Lingerie & Lounge, and Fine Jewellery, we provided Bonaveri FMC08 female mannequins alongside custom wall-mounted display heads, each selected to complement the interior architecture's balance of travertine, polished metals, and rich velvet textures. The result is a gallery-like retail environment where product and display exist in quiet dialogue, a space that honours Harrods' heritage while setting a new standard for luxury visual merchandising.

The Brief

When Harrods and David Collins Studio embarked on a complete reimagining of the Knightsbridge store's womenswear floors, the brief extended well beyond architecture and fixtures. Every mannequin, bust form and display element needed to feel integral to the interior, not an afterthought. Blue Studio Trading was engaged to consult on, source and supply the full mannequin and display programme across four departments.

Our Approach

We worked closely with David Collins Studio's design team to understand the material palette for each room from the open-pored travertine and geometric marble floors of the Holiday space, to the soft green velvets and shimmering textured glass of Lingerie & Lounge. For the Holiday and Occasionwear rooms, the FMC08 collection brought a warmer, more approachable character to the Lingerie department.

Bespoke wall-mounted display heads were developed for the Holiday department, designed to sit flush within the polished fixture system and present hat wear at precisely the right height and angle. Every element was finished to complement the surrounding materials, polished nickel fittings, fabric-wrapped bases, and custom paint finishes matched to the studio's colour specifications.

The Result

The completed Occasionwear department sets a new benchmark for luxury retail presentation. As Lewis Taylor, Design Director at David Collins Studio, noted: "Fine and couture women's clothing has always been an important inspiration for us, to be able to create the ultimate home for these pieces is such a privilege." The mannequins and display elements we supplied play a quiet but essential role in that vision, bridging the gap between interior architecture and the garments on show.
